My Favourite Songs: June 2021

Here are some of the songs I am obsessed with this month, not neccessarily meaning that they were released this month, but that I just love them a bit more right now.

Rude - MAGIC!

"Love me or hate me, we will be both standing at that altar, or we will run away....you know she's in love with me, she will go anywhere I go."

I used to despise this song because it was insanely overplayed on every radio station when it first came out, but, after a few years of not hearing it, I learned to really like it again.

Fría Como el Viento - Diego Boneta

"No te dejas amar, por eso, no sé si te tengo, no sé si vienes o te vas, eres como un potro sin domar."

I love this TV series, and I love the soundtrack. This is one song that I found in the first series soundtrack that I always skipped over, but recently gave it a chance and I LOVE it. The line above is my favourite part, which means "You don't let yourself love, for this, I don't know if I have you, I don't know if you're coming or going, you're like an untamed colt."

Quando Finisce Un Amore - Riccardo Cocciante

"E cerchi a tutti i costi una ragione, eppure non c'è mai una ragione, perché un amore debba finire."

Now, I'm not really too crazy about Riccardo Cocciante, but I do like this song, I found it from his performance in the Arena di Verona, when Il Volo did their televised concert. I wanted to hear how Cocciante sang it back in the day which is significantly better than now. Also, it was arranged by Ennio Morricone which is just amazing, anything he arranges is beautiful.

Anna e Marco - Lucio Dalla

"E la luna in silenzio ora si avvicina, con un mucchio di stelle cade per strada, luna che cammina, luna di città."

Someone put this on their Instagram story, and of course, like I do, I searched and listened to it. I knew I'd like it because it's Lucio Dalla, who doesn't love Dalla?! This song is such a story, so beautiful.

Bella Ciao - Lionfield

"E quest'è il fiore del partigiano, morto per la libertà."

You already know, anytime Lionfield comes out with a new song, I'm going to hype it up. They do a fantastic job with their music, not just originals, but also covers. This version of Bella Ciao really matches the lyrics well with the instrumental, they've done a fantastic job.

I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE - Måneskin

"I wanna make your heartbeat run like rollercoasters...'cause you can be the beauty and I can be the monster."

I'm not going to explain this one, the only thing I'm going to say is, I have been bingeing a bit of Måneskin's music and this one makes me feel so bad ass.
