My Favourite Disney Songs

So many to choose from, but here are some Disney songs that I love just a bit more than the others...

Let's start, shall we?

5. Part of Your World (Reprise) - The Little Mermaid

"What would I give to live where you are? What would I pay to stay here beside you? What would I do to see you smiling at me?"

I love this significantly more than the original version of this song. The line I put above has never been more relevant to the current pandemic situation we're living in right now. I don't make it much of a secret that I want to go to Italy very much to see my friends and my family...that's what I think about when I hear this song.

4. I Won't Say I'm In Love - Hercules

"If there's a prize for rotten judgement, I guess I've already won that, no man is worth the aggrivation."

Who doesn't love this song between the main idea, the Muses in the background and Meg's voice? I love how Meg is fighting her nature in this song, trying not to be the typical Disney damsel in distress, but she just can't help herself when it comes to Hercules. Really cute, worth the listen.

3. Speechless - Aladdin (2019)

"I won't be silenced, you can't keep me quiet."

This song made me go, "You go girl!" when I heard it the first time. It's such an empowering song, and Naomi Scott's voice is just unreal. I really appreciated that in the live action Aladdin, Jasmine had her own song because in the animated, she really only had A Whole New World as a duet; not even her own!

2. Remember Me - Coco

"Know that I'm with you the only way that I can be, until you're in my arms again, remember me."

We can all agree that this movie was absolutely heartwrenching, right? This song was so sad and so cute at the same time, it makes me cry and smile at the same time. It's also beautiful in Spanish, that was the first version I heard actually. Also, if you haven't seen Coco, you need to, ASAP.

1. So Close - Enchanted

"So close, to reaching that famous happy end. Almost believing that this one's not pretend, and now you’re beside me and look how far we’ve come, so far we are so close"

It's no secret that this is my new favourite Disney movie...(it always used to be Aladdin but I've upgraded to Enchanted as of late) the dance scene in the movie that goes along with this song is just...breathtaking. Literally. It's got that idea of a hopeful, "so close" but then the bittersweet "so far" that is just gut wrenching and fantastic at the same time.

I think I have to go rewatch every Disney movie I've listed here today as well as stream every soundtrack...see you later!
