Best Spring 2022 Beauty Products + Dupes!

We all love to try new products in the change of a season, whether it be a pastel eyeshadow palette or a dewy primer, it's such a serotonin boost to get into the excitement of warmer weather and blooming flowers. Here are some of my favourite beauty products for Spring 2022, and their cost friendly counterparts!

Rare Beauty Dewy Lip Balm

Pro's: This balm is very moisturizing, and feels very soft on your lips, leaving insane pigment and glow. I have tried the shades Honour and Thankful, clear and a brown shade that are very nice this time of year.

Con's: The smell/taste is very unpleasantly soapy, and definitely gets in your mouth. Some say it has no smell or taste, so maybe it's just certain batches that they made with a certain fragrance and that's the one I picked up.

As lovely as this balm is, here's its dupe...

Burt's Bee's Tinted Lip Balm

Pro's: Has a more pleasant scent/taste, like cotton candy. I've tried the shade Rose and it leaves a fresh tint that just screams Spring. It has a less luxurious packaging, but it's also a fraction of the price.

Con's: It leaves more of a balmy finish rather than a dewy, but still glowing just the same.

ITEM Beauty Lip Quip Clean Moisturizing Lip Gloss

Pro's: It leaves a lovely juicy shine to the lips, with a doe-foot applicator to hold in product as you apply.

Con's: The price is steep for a lip gloss, and there are only four shades. Some even say that it spills in their purse.

Its dupe...

Milani Fruit Fetish Lip Oil

Pro's: The scent of all four oils are sweet and fresh, just perfect for the spring time. They're also a fraction of the cost of the ITEM gloss and at least you know they leave a nice scent.

Con's: There are only four shades as well, and I wish there were individual scents like the Cherry Lime, I'd rather either a cherry or a lime gloss rather than together.

Rare Beauty Illuminating Primer

Pro's: This primer leaves a beautiful glow to the skin, no chunks of glitter or shimmer, just a pearlescent finish that looks like you've been taking the best care of your skin for years.

Con's: The price is steep for the amount of primer that you get, I wish the bottle was bigger.

The more cost friendly option....

ELF Cosmetics Luminous Putty Primer

Pro's: This primer, like it's luxury counterpart, has no glittery chunks and leaves a pearly finish. I've done a side by side comparison and I actually couldn't tell which side was which afterwards. Spring is the time to shine, and this will help!

Con's: The consistency is putty rather than liquid like the Rare Beauty primer.

MILK Makeup Lip + Cheek Blush Stick

Pro's: This blush is pigmented, and leaves a natural finish to the skin. It works as a multi stick for lips and cheeks, on even the eyes, if set with translucent powder.

Con's: It's very little product for the cost, you don't get as much as you'd expect.

QUO Beauty Cheeky Lip Multi Stick

Pro's: I love this blush. It's cost friendly, available at Shoppers Drug Mart so I get PC Points on it, there are many shade options and there's so much product for the price. It leaves a cute flush that one would get if they'd been out picking tulips all day!

Con's: It can be a bit stiff, so don't apply directly to your face, put it on the back of your hand then pick it up with a brush.

Natasha Denona Pastel Eyeshadow Palette

Pro's: The spring is the time for pastels, and this shadow palette could definitely be part of your everyday spring routine. The shades "zest" and "limoncello" are calling my name.

Con's: The price is insane, I don't think it could be justified unless you have a gift card.

The dupe...

Revolution Makeup Pastel Eyeshadow Palette

Pro's: The price is much cheaper and you get many colours. The formula is the signature Revolution eyeshadow formula that is easy to work with, and there's something about the packaging that I love: simple and sleek.

Con's: There are no shimmers in this palette, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing for me because everyday eyeshadow looks are mostly matte for me.
